I love to watch the Martha Stewart show each weekday morning and she always has great ideas and recipes. On todays show Martha made a minestrone soup, which is my favorite soup and it looks sooo tasty. Making homemade soup can be fun and it will taste much better than from a can I am sure. I will surely try to make this soup myself when I feel in the mood and I can’t wait. Go here to view the recipe and Martha Stewart dot com.

I love this time of year because Egg Nog comes out at the supermarkets and I get to drink it all up! I have a glass here with me now as I write this post and it is mmmmm tasty. I have to say that there is one brand of Egg Nog that I do not like. It just has too much Nutmeg in it and it is too overwhelming for me to take. I like to drink my Egg Nog straight, but I know some people ho like to add milk and just a dab of Egg Nog. Since Egg Nog only comes out a few months out of the year, I go a little crazy and have a little too much Egg nog, but I forget by the next year and so I guess it’s OK. If you have never had Egg Nog you should try some this year, come on just give it a try, it wont hurt, you might even LIKE it.

The Charlie Horse is a great fun restaurant and video arcade for people of all ages. I have to drive almost two hours to get to The Charlie Horse and it is well worth the drive for us. They have a kids arcade, large restaurant with great food, two full bars, pool table hall, function rooms and they have TV’s everywhere you look. You can watch the sports games anywhere in the place and they have Keno too. I have been going to the Charlie Horse for over 15 years and it is just as fun every time I go. Bring the kids and eat, drink and be merry at The Charlie Horse.

I have to say that one of my best finds was the sandwich sized english muffins by Thomas. I was buying myself some regular sized english muffins one day, ad I cam across the sandwich sized, they come in a pack of four. These are a great size for sandwiches, but also as a snack with peanut butter or cream cheese and jelly. This size is also much softer than he regular sized english muffins, I am not sure why that is, but they are VERY soft. The next time you are buying english muffins, try the sandwich size, and trust me, you will never go back to the regular size.

I go shopping only once a month and I buy most of my monthly food on that day and I fill up my cart so high that people think that I am feeding a whole entire family of people. There are only two and a half at my home, but I buy in one burst so I buy a ton of food including meat and more.

I need to put all of my meat in the freezer because otherwise it will go bad. I try to take my meat out early in the day so that I don’t have to defrost it, but sometimes I just have to do it. I do not like to do it, but in certain situations I juts need to do it. I know people use their microwaves all the time, but I just try to use mine the least amount possible.

I have to say that I am a fan of frozen pizza. About a year ago I came across this fabulous french bread pizza that is made by Stouffer’s. It costs about $4.00 for two pieces and you only need one piece per person. I like the cheese french bread pizza and I like the pepperoni pizza.

This pizza tastes soo good and you don’t even need to add any cheese or pepperoni to it before you cook it. Most times you need to add extra cheese to your frozen pizza’s because they don’t have nearly enough and this french bread pizza tastes great and cooks in 20 minutes.

I have today that without a doubt Funfetti cake is my favorite birthday cake mix. It’s even better when you add cream cheese frosting and some sprinkles. My nephew has his 6th birthday today and of course, they had a funfetti birthday cake, and it was so darn good that I felt the need to write a post about it. You can buy funfetti cake mix at almost any supermarket.

I buy mine at Stop and Shop. Funfetti cake mix is made by the Pillsbury company. IF you have a birthday coming up and you need to make a birthday cake that everyone will definitely enjoy, try funfetti. I know that everyone at my nephew’s party LOVED it.

My husband and I live just a few miles from a Wendy’s do once in a while, when we are not in the mood to cook, we will have Wendy’s. It seems that every time we have Wendy’s my husband is on the toilet for a day or two..why is that? I don’t ever have a problem when I eat any fast food, my body handles it like anything else and I don’t eat junk food at all.


My husband on the other hand can eat a box of Oreo’s in one sitting. He has been on the toilet for the past 3 days and is not feeling good and is home form work for a while today because he feels like total crap. We have decided no more Wendy;s for him for awhile, but this still makes me wonder why it affects him this way and not me……

Recently I have been on a yogurt kick and I have been eating the Yo Crunch yogurt that you can buy at Stop and Shop. It is very good and there are several flavors.


The best part is that this yogurt comes with a cap full of crunchy granola that you pour into the yogurt and mix in for a delicious flavor and texture. There are also other flavors of Yo Crunch that have cookie crumbles, m&m’s and others. I buy strawberry with granola and it is the bomb.

I was watching TV last night and I happened to see a commercial about Coors Beer. In the commercial they showed that when the Coors beer is cold the mountains on the front of the bottle turn blue. I think that is a petty neat idea.


They say that when the mountains turn blue, the beer is the perfect temperature for drinking. I bet that as soon as you pull it out and hold it for a little while, the blue mountains go away, since your hand is pretty warm. But, nonetheless the idea is a neat one.
